Iron Witch – Post Vegas Blues‏

I know most people go on and on about the links between the sound of Iron Witch and Eyehategod but the one thing a must say about the latter band is that for me, the recording was never quite up to scratch until the last album ‘Confederacy of Ruined Lives’ and was always a little too tinny for my taste. With Iron Witch though this has never been a problem and this new 2 song offering just sounds even more gargantuan than previous efforts. The twin guitars of little liverpuddlians Dan and Sam are truly monstrous and make your ears feel as though they are being dragged through some rather rusty and unpleasant nails, and leave that nice warm tetanus feeling as you listen!

Most importantly I think is that someone really seems to have rattled vocalist Chris Fane’s cage, he has never sounded this pissed off before and it just makes this band even more exciting. Maybe it’s the fact that the band have managed to get a lot of live shows under their belt since the previous EP and he has honed his skills or maybe its just because someone keeps hiding his bottle of Whiskey, but whatever the reason it works and really adds that special something to this cracker of an EP.

I really love the idea of bands steering clear from long waits between albums and prefer the method of EPs coming thick and fast, the only problem that I have with this release in particular is the long wait before I get the physical copy in my hand! But hey I suppose that’s more the fault of the label and not the band (and all will be forgiven once I receive along with a very sexy new T-shirt)

If you want to hear this filthy little beast, you can here…

But if you want to own it alongside a lovely new shirt design, you can here.

But whatever you choose, get in quick as they will not be around for long!!

  1. Cheers dude. Just a quick note though. Those shirt bundles have nearly sold out, I think they have 2/3 left, so if you want one act fast! Hope everyone enjoys it.
