It would be really arrogant of me to review my own bands EP so i am not going to but i am going to plug it because we all worked fucking hard on getting this out to you and self funding (as we always do!) and next up we have been offered a very exciting new project to work on which will hopefully be coming out in the first quarter of 2013! More details to come as we have them.

NEW Anouncement for the H_D_P/WPC Stage at Desertfest 2013…..‏

Come in the form of the Liverpuddlian Titans that are the mighty CONAN!!

Absolute beast of a band that will no doubt cause the Underworld to crumble these guys have had a really good year in 2012 and you can guarantee that 2013 is going to be even better. Joining the already Announced RAMMESES and BELZEBONG you can already get a feel of exactly how crushing this day is going to be!

Sea Bastard – Self Titled‏

This, the first proper album from SEA BASTARD is exactly what I was hoping for after the exciting EP ‘Great Barrier Riff’ which was released last year. It’s absolutely, incredibly, satanically, titanically MASSIVE and the foundations of my home are still rattling after sat here listening on my bloody headphones!! The production level is perfect for the sound of the band and most importantly Oli’s Guitar sounds both filthy and dark and crystal clear all at the same time. Monty’s gargling growl and fantastic story telling lyrics ensure that you are 100% engrossed during the hour long tale that is weaved.

A personal favourite on this is the song ‘ Psychic Funeral’ where they hit a more melodic point and Monty’s gut wrenching screech is actually very tuneful, this album is such a massive improvement on something that was already pretty damn good. An unstoppable evil riff churning doomy Sea Bastard they are indeed!

You can Download the Album HERE but there is talk of a vinyl release later in the year and I truly think that once that is on my turntable this record will reach a new height of awesomeness. WELL DONE LADS!

The Bendal Interlude – Odourama‏

It has been along time waiting for this EP to hit the (virtual) shelves and the 4 tracks here have proven to be worth the wait. Full of amazing blues/grind riffs and hilarious sampling, THE BENDAL INTERLUDE are that little bit different from everyone else on the scene. Its sick music for evil bastards to dance to, with unrelenting heaviness but a sexy unhinged groove that commands you to do a jig!

2 tracks have been around for some time in NSFW video form and more can be seen here and here, but at only £3 (and fantastic cover artwork designed by yours truly) this is a must have for all who like their glasses to be filled with Bucky and their music to be a little bit worrying!

Blackstorm – The Darkness is Getting Closer‏

It has been well over 2 years since BLACKSTORM have released anything at all and this release got me horrendously excited this morning once I found out it was out for the world to listen too. I have been flying the flag for the Brighton lads ever since I first heard them, having watched them several times in their hometown, which lead on to me asking them to headline the first birthday of WPC last October.

It’s no secret that Karl Middleton is by far my most favoured of all vocalists as the ferocity of his voice is equally matched by the calming and almost hypnotic singing tone and this band has been the best way in recent years to show the capability and range of his talent. Most will know his other band EARTHTONE9 and I think although the riffs are simpler and harder hitting in Blackstorm, this EP is moving more toward ET9’s sound and this is in no way a bad thing!

That, mixed with the amazing production of this 3 track EP means it makes an outstanding listen and really needs to be checked out by all. I hope it starts them on to much greater things as it completely overshadows the musicianship and writing quality shown in their previous effort ‘Rise Rebel Seers’ (Which was amazing as well!!)
