With the largest amount of people having bought advance tickets to this years SUMMER SIZZLER is looking to be the best yet and here’s 5 reasons why we think its gonna kick serious buttocks:
1 – GURT are playing their debut album in its entirety… Which means hearing songs never before played live, lots of dinosaurs, and an extra long set of surprises in store too!
2 – ASTROHENGE are opening the proceedings with a special Arc Tan Gent warm up show, which means that we need you folks to get down early as they start at 7pm but I have been informed lots of new songs are coming!
3 – LOADS of WPC first timers are playing! PIST, DYSTERIA, SIEGE MENTALITY, TEEF and ELEPHANT TREE are all performing for the first time and with such a diverse line up of different styles these are guaranteed to become someones new favorite band!
4 – THERE ARE 2 DAYS OF FUN!!! This is a first for the Summer Sizzler and with the first day being tomorrow it means that you have all of Sunday to nurse those hangovers and get to back full strength..
5 – IRON WITCH ARE BACK!!!! And everyone who has been to a WPC event knows what happens when these fellas play……. CARNAGE!!!!

I have been a big fan of SHEBREW for some time now and had them play at my last Summer WPC birthday shindig a couple of years back, since then they have gone slightly quiet as they have been searching for a new second guitarist but when popping up they have played some good shows alongside the likes of fellow Birmingham friends Alunah and even recently played as support to the Atomic Bitchwax.
So it made me very happy to receive this brand new 3 Track EP as it hopefully means they may be getting a little more active again. First track is all instrumental and what a track it is, its really quite uplifting and a good one to listen to on the stomp home from a bad day at work. The one thing I like most about this band is that despite sounding quite bleak sometimes in the same vain as bands like Life of Agony, they do have that desert groove that some of the greater Stoner bands are known for and its for this reason that ‘Slow Down’ is a real stand out track on this offering!
Really worth a listen and hopefully we shall see more of SHEBREW soon, check out the title track below:

A last minute addition to the next Summer Sizzler at the end of the month sees our friends ASTROHENGE joining the party for the second time on Friday 29th August, they shall be opening proceedings before then darting off shortly after their set to perform at this years installment of ARCTANGENT FESTIVAL in Bristol.
Expect lots of riffs and some brand NEW material thrown in too!!
