So it is with great pleasure that I can announce 4 returning giants within the UK sludge scene to headline and co-headline this years final Summer Sizzler at the Windmill Brixton.
on the Friday we have GURT who without this band WPC would not even exist, it has helped us grow as a band and meet so many of our peers, one of the main buddies being the chaps in DIESEL KING who have also appeared several times but have grown so much in popularity over the years it a real pleasure to have both bands together topping the Friday bill!
on Saturday we well and truly bring in the big guns, SLABDRAGGER shall be heading the night after an amazingly positive reaction to their new album ‘Rise of the Dawncrusher’ its crazy to think that 5 years ago this band were opening our very first Summer Sizzler event. But I am blown away that they are joining us again to end proceedings for one final time at the Windmill. Under them we have the return of IRON WITCH who have headlined on a couple of occasions over the years but now they are back with new material and a new line up, its going to be one hell of a party!
As always we shall have the BBQ on the Saturday and there is still a whole host of bands to announce for both days.

This band’s album is the most anticipated album I have experienced for quite some time, to put in to context. WPC did not even exist when ‘Regress’ was first released which makes it over 5 years ago!
Thankfully I can report that it is well and truly worth the wait. A lot of people have been saying about the addition of Melody to this album which I can only agree with but it’s mainly in the form of the clean vocals which I can only assume come from Yusuf which really add another layer to these songs and make them a real evolution for this much loved band.
They are definitely the closest thing we shall ever get to YOB in this country and this is proven on the devastatingly crushing tune ‘Dawncrusher Rising’ which in its opening couple of minutes sounds more YOB than YOB have sounded in a long time. It really is a call to arms for the UK filth scene and puts many other bands to shame in its balls out approach to just writing killer unforgettable riffs!
