Its no damn secret that I have a great love for LIMB having seen them early on in their career supporting Holy Mountain and screaming their praise for the get go, but for me the best thing was having the chance to become friends with the guys and work with them in producing a split with them and my own band GURT late last year.
So as you can guess I have been aware of this album coming for some time and the wait was so very worth it. The greatest thing is that these chaps and chapess have got that groove that so many bands fall sort on. There is nothing worse than bands over complicating things and the great thing about some of the best Sludge bands is they keep it simple and keep it bouncy and this is where LIMB excel, the opener sets the bar high and carries it on through out. Even with older tracks ‘Daemoness’ and ‘Gift the sun’ (A personal fave for obvious reasons!) making an appearance that constant head nodding can be kept consistant to the point of a mighty achy neck by the end of the 30 or so minute length of this class selection of tunes!
If you need any more persuasion to buy then for this release they have some very special cover art, created by the super talented Richey Beckett, fresh from his work with Metallica and Mastodon. It’s pretty special: intricately detailed and darkly beautiful. The super deluxe vinyl edition comes in a gatefold sleeve, with a heavyweight 180g, green and black vinyl record, plus an insert of the cover art and a free download of the whole album.
So get involved folks and prepare yourselves by PRE-ORDERING RIGHT HERE as the Vinyl is limited to just 300 copies
